Buzz Friday (5 out of 5)

Review by Alice (aged 15)

Buzz: THE place to be every Friday night. If you haven’t been yet…where have you been??

The incredible night doesn’t just start when the presenters get up and do ‘their thing’; it all starts in the queues waiting to go in. Everyone is proper buzzing and chants drown out the banging tunes. The doors open and everyone piles in. Everyone standing on chairs, doing Mexican waves and generally going crazy shows us that we are going to have another amazing night.

The main event kicks off and the band makes their way onto the stage do their thing then on come the host!!! They introduce their weird but wonderful games the ski jump of destiny, the roller coaster of destiny and not to mention the ipod give-aways!!! Everyone is up for a laugh and join in all the games. Who says you have to get drunk or go clubbing to have a good time? It’s literally the most fun anyone will ever have!

Pumping music is the key. The Buzz Band play awesome music and the people in the mosh pit go absolutely mental. It does matter if you’re into rock, dance or disco, the Buzz band can do anything…except classical! Other bands like McFly and Girls Aloud have older people singing and playing the instruments but the Buzz Band is mainly teenagers from Buzz, and they still sound better than some pop bands in the charts!

At normal events the mood chills as someone gets up to speak for 15 minutes, but Buzz isn’t normal. Every week one of the Buzz team gives an inspirational and interactive talk, which is easy to understand and will relate to life issues and how God fits into their day to day circumstances.

If you’re not exhausted after all that, during Chill you can play football, play some extreme sports or have a little dance at the disco. However, if the night has just tired you out you can grab a refreshing drink and either battle it out on the play stations, watch a movie or just sit and chat. Whatever you choose to do, if you’re at Buzz, you know you’ve made the right choice!

Buzz is the best way to spend your Friday nights. You have a great laugh and get new friends.

You’ve got to bring your mates. It’s honestly the best place to be on a Friday night!

Buzz is every Friday in Sheffield at The Megacentre, Bernard Road, Sheffield, S2 5BQ

Hollywood Bowl Arcade (4 out of 5)

Review by Si Blois

Hollywood Bowl Arcade is a quality place to hang out with your friends, whether it is a Saturday night or a Monday afternoon! With nearly every arcade game you can think of this is one place you won’t get bored! It’s location in Centertainment on the Meadowhall tram route, means that the arcade is an ideal stop off point whether you are going to the cinema or for a meal at Frankie & Bennies.  And with their own security team, Hollywood Bowl is a safe environment to be in.

The range of games is brilliant; you are truly spoilt for choice! You and your friends can race-it-out on the multi player ‘Monte Carlo Racing’ game; who will be the next Jenson Button? Or maybe you will want to battle it out on ‘House of The Dead III’. Girls, if your aim is rubbish and you’re not hot on driving, why don’t you dance the night away on the ‘Dance Revolution 8’ dance machine! There are a number of 2p and 10p machines for those keen on getting rid of their spare change, and teddy-bear grabbing machines if you fancy winning a prize! Other games include Air Hockey, Motor Bike Racing, Army SWAT and Pool.

The café offers a range of great food including crusty baguettes, jacket potatoes, hot dogs and burgers. Or if you find yourself too hot, you might enjoy a Slush Puppy or a cold Pepsi. There are a range of snacks also available from ice creams and muffins to chocolate brownies.

However, after all that, if you do for some reason get tired of the arcade you might want to go bowling. Opening Times are: 10am -12midnight, 7 days a week, and with 26 lanes the queue for bowling will never be too long! There are two times that you can bowl; off peak - weekdays before 6pm, or on peak - weekdays after 6pm and all weekend. The prices for these times are as follows:

Adult: Peak - £4.00 / Off Peak - £2.60
Junior (under 16):  Peak - £3.00 / Off peak - £1.80

At the end of the day, Hollywood Bowl Arcade is the place to be, whether you are chilling in the café, playing the games or waiting for your turn to bowl.
