Hello! Welcome to YoureLookingGreat - your quirky online lifestyle magazine & the home of Hope City Church!
Summer evenings are here and May is definately the month to start venturing out in the evening. Enough of making yourself suffer infront of the box (although make sure you Sky Plus The Apprentice!).
Speaking of The Apprentice - listening to Alan Sugar, you get the impression he is expecting candidates that have 30 years experience and really know their field - and yet they seem to get a little younger every year? The candidates talk themselves up as though they are the best in the profession saying things like 'I've never lost a deal in my life'. They've only been selling deals for the last three years since they left uni! They obviously really want the job or are fearful of being judged for the rest of their lives on the performance they give in the boardroom. Imagine really stuffing up and then having to find a job when every boss in the country has seen you make a howler or a decision! Not such a clever move! But actually these are the people that have dared to take the opportunity to skip a few runs on the ladder. These are the ones dreaming of significance, they'd love to have the influence and assets of Alan Sugar.
But for them to write history, they have to become bigger and better, do something that hasn't been done before, something more daring than Alan Sugar or Richard Branson. History writers are pioneers. They go where others haven't been or don't want to go. I say pioneer away! If you were taken into a little room at the start of your life and asked if you wanted to play safe and have a bog standard life for free or have an adventure and leave something for the people who come after you at a cost of risk, some finance some of your spare time and energy. I still recon you'd choose the adventure. Say no to boring this month and become a history maker. Let your imagination run wild. Get adventurous and advance.
